North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System is seeking a full-time Psychiatrist. The selectee will be assigned to work at this VA Medical Center in the outpatient clinic setting in multidisciplinary care settings. Duties include psychiatric evaluation/assessment, psychiatric medication management, and coordination of the veteran's overall mental health care. Psychiatrist works closely with colleagues to provide comprehensive, outpatient mental health care. An essential element is active knowledge of the medical records system. This shall include using the computerized patient record system (CPRS) for progress notes, orders, prescriptions, and medical record review and completion of such records in a complete and timely manner. The selectee will have knowledge of and abide by Medical Center Staff Bylaws, VHA Rules and Regulations and have a familiarization with existing VA specific clinical guidelines. In addition to patient care, a psychiatrist may be asked to represent Psychiatry in other areas, such as education and research or be called upon to exercise leadership role in occasional efforts to improve patient care.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
Proficiency in spoken and written English.
