Friends of Cancer Research is currently seeking to build our science and research team with an additional senior level policy analyst. Through close coordination with the President & CEO and scientific staff, the Science Policy Analyst will play a key role in developing original research and implementing a range of exciting scientific initiatives designed to optimize and accelerate cancer research. Interested candidates should have in-depth knowledge regarding the development and regulation of new drugs and medical devices, as well as processes associated with diagnostic development, and clinical trial design.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Be a part of a team of science policy analysts to develop and implement the organization’s scientific, regulatory, and policy activities
Help engineer and oversee the science-based agenda through conference issue briefs, comprehensive policy white papers, health research studies, congressional testimony, and position statements
Work with multi-stakeholder advisory committees toward the development of policy whitepapers in conjunction with multiple forums throughout the year
Conduct original health policy research studies for publication in peer reviewed journals
Help organize educational meetings, symposia, and briefings by selecting topics, developing background materials and briefing packets for participants
Monitor, track and analyze key scientific issues relevant to the organization’s mission of advancing cancer research
Assist in the substantive preparation of science-related public presentations
Share responsibility for attending scientific conferences
Develop policy recommendations and advocacy strategies for medical research and science issues
Recruit and supervise interns
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by President & CEO, Chairperson, and/or Board of Directors
